Dr. Fred Oswald, PhD

Dr Fred Oswald is a Professor in Industrial and Organizational Psychology at Rice University. His 25 years of research addresses employment testing, adverse impact, and talent management systems across a wide range of organizational, educational, and military settings. Increasingly, this research involves machine learning and AI applications.
Fred has served in a range of leadership positions relevant to AI and technology. He is current Chair of the Board on Human-Systems Integration (BOHSI) at the National Academy of Sciences, and he is a current Member of the National Artificial Intelligence Advisory Committee (NAIAC), which advises the White House on pressing issues of AI. Fred received his PhD in industrial-organizational psychology from the University of Minnesota.
